Obverse: The portrait in left profile of George Washington, the first President of the United States from 1789 to 1797., Reverse: Tuskegee Airman pilot suiting up to join the fight during World War II with the Moton Field control tower in the background. The pilot looks upward with pride and confidence as two P-51 Mustangs pass overhead.

The US motto is above, with seven stars to the left, six stars to the right, and the date below., Reverse: "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" surrounding olive wreath, with large "1" in center, and a circle of dots around the rim.
