Obverse: Liberty at seashore with olive branch in right hand and left on globe inscribed "LIBERTY." In background there are two flags, a wheat sheaf, and a steam ship., Reverse: "1/5 OF A DOLLAR" center within laurel wreath, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "TWENTY CENTS" at rim.

Obverse: Dr. John McLoughlin, the establisher of Fort Vancouver on the Columbia River in 1825 and later went on to found Oregon City, facing left and the denomination below, Reverse: A pioneer holding a musket with the Fort and a mountain peak in the background.
