Hard Times Token - Liberty / Not One Cent
Obverse: Left facing Liberty head, tiara of olive leaves, plain hair cords, E PLURIBUS UNUM on scroll above with 7 stars on left & 6 on right. A tiny, leftmost leaf is opposite P & medium 1837 date below. The lower hair curl touches the neck and falls below curling to the left., Reverse: Wreath with a line below Cent. There are 4 berries outside the wreath, one opposite the first E in Defence and the last is tiny at the base of the leaf that points to C. There are 6 berries inside the wreath of which the last 2, one of which has no stem, are above and to the right of the E in One.

Obverse: The portrait in left profile of George Washington, the first President of the United States from 1789 to 1797, is accompanied with the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the lettering "LIBERTY" surrounded with the denomination and the inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", Reverse: Depicts the outline of the island, a flying proa (a seagoing craft built by the Chamorro people), a latte stone (an architectural element used as the base of homes) and the inscriptions, GUAM and Guahan I Tanó ManChamorro, which means "Guam - Land of the Chamorro."
