Obverse: The portrait in left profile of George Washington, the first President of the United States from 1789 to 1797, is accompanied with the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" and the lettering "LIBERTY" and it is surrounded with the face value and the inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", engravers' initials on neck truncation., Reverse: Portrait of Helen Keller, the first deafblind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree, and her name in English and in a reduced-size version of Braille, an Alabama long leaf pine branch with magnolias gracing the sides of the design, and the Spirit of Courage banner underlining the image.
